This 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 Mk II was sold new by Falvey Imported Cars in Detroit, Michigan, and is said to have remained with its first owner until 2017. The seller inherited the car in 2021 following a refurbishment that began under prior ownership in 2017 and was completed by the seller’s father in 2020. Finished in red over matching upholstery, the car is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes a black soft top, a white hardtop, 15″ wire wheels, front disc brakes, and a dash-mounted rear-view mirror. This BT7 is offered with original sales documents, service receipts, refurbishment photos, a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Colorado Red and is said to have been refinished in 2020 following bodywork. Equipment includes a black convertible top, a white factory hardtop, a hood scoop, a driver-side mirror, and chrome bumpers.
Silver-finished 15″ wire wheels feature two-eared knock-off hubs and are wrapped in BFGoodrich Silvertown tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The front bucket seats, rear bench, and center armrest are trimmed in red with black piping and are said to have been reupholstered in 2020. Black rubber floor mats are fitted in the front, and additional details include a dash-mounted rearview mirror and a heater.
The three-spoke steering wheel is wrapped in black leather and frames Smiths instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 45k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six is equipped with a trio of SU HS4 carburetors.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with an overdrive unit. Rust is noted on the underside.
Documentation accompanying the car includes the original bill of sale, service and parts records, and a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate that lists factory colors, equipment, and build date in October 1961. The current Massachusetts title has an odometer reading of 50,000.
