For sale on e-bay: cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Austin-Healey-MK-I-BT7-BT7-

This is a beautiful example of a 1960 Austin Healey MKI BT7 with electric over drive, matching numbers, Colorado Red base coat/clear coat with new black vinyl interior/red piping. Restoration was started in 1997 and completed in July 2000 when I bought the car from an individual in Canada. Since that time I have put approximately 5,400 miles on the newly rebuilt engine. Wherever possible stainless steel fasteners and OE parts were used in the restoration. New parts inventory consists of bumpers, mirrors, headlight rings, trunk hinges, name plates, sticker plates, brakes, brake hoses, exhaust, seat foam, windshield seals, two new bumper overriders, fender spears, fender beads, rocker panels and floors, tenax fasteners, wipers and many other small parts too numerous to mention. The radiator and gas tank have been rebuilt. The top is marine canvas designed to repel water as is the tonneau cover/storage bag. The speedometer shows 93,694 miles but I can't say for sure. It and the tachometer have been rebuilt by Nisonger Instruments. Since 2000 the car has been maintained by Quality Coaches of Minneapolis. During this time the car has received a new clutch slave cylinder, front and rear shocks, distributor rotor and points, valve and carburetor adjustments, new battery, 160 degree thermostat, spin on oil filter adapter (the stock attachment is included), heat shield kit, new clutch and pressure plate. The transmission was overhauled in July 2011 replacing all seals. The car comes complete with all service records (since 2000) and a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate of authenticity. The only significant flaw is a whining noise in first and reverse gears which has been there since I purchased the car 12 years ago. This car is a dream to drive and the electric overdrive works beautifully in 3rd and 4th gears.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
