This 1955 Austin-Healey 100 BN1 roadster is finished in Ice Blue over navy leather and powered by a numbers-matching 2.6-liter inline-four paired with a BN2 4-speed manual transmission featuring overdrive on the top two gears. The car reportedly underwent refurbishment while owned by a Boeing engineer in Seattle six years ago, and was then sold to a Rhode Island collector who stored it for five years before the seller purchased it less than a year ago. A subsequent recommissioning included fitment of a Dynamator alternator conversion and replacement of the brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, and shoes. This BN1 is offered with side curtains, a new tonneau cover, an owner’s handbook, and a Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.
The car was repainted during the refurbishment six years ago, and was stored in a climate-controlled facility by the previous owner according to the seller. A new navy blue top was installed by the seller in October 2018, and matching side curtains are also included.
Chrome 15” wire wheels with knock-off hubs wear Michelin XZX tires that were mounted about five years ago. Fog lights were added during the refurbishment and were rewired by the seller this year.
The interior was refreshed with new navy leather upholstery and blue carpets six years ago. The 3-spoke Moto Lita steering wheel has reportedly been signed by Mario Andretti on one spoke and is sealed over that area. Switches for fog and running lights are mounted near a BMC radio added during the refurbishment.
The odometer was reportedly reset during the 2012 work and shows approximately 1,688 miles, about 100 of which have been added by the seller. A voltmeter has been added under the dash as well as a 12-volt plug adapter, and a master shut-off switch is located in the trunk.
The numbers-matching 2.6-liter inline-four is mated to a BN2 4-speed manual transmission which features overdrive on third and fourth gears. The seller added a Dynamator this year as well as correcting electrical issues and replacing the rear shocks, brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, and bonded brake shoes.
