This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III was refurbished in 2020 and is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six equipped with triple Weber carburetors, an aluminum cylinder head, three-into-one headers, and a dual side exhaust system, while shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The car is finished in red over black Ambla vinyl, and features include a black soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, Spax shocks, electric power steering, front fender vents, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, and Lucas driving lights. This 3000 Mk III was acquired by the selling dealer in 2024 and is now offered with records and Belgian registration.
The car is finished in red and was repainted and fitted with a replacement black mohair soft top during the refurbishment. The front bumper has been removed, while a dual side-exit exhaust system, mesh grille, driving lights, vented front fenders, and white number roundels have been added.
The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Vredestein Sport Classic tires measuring 185/70. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. Spax shocks and EZ electric power steering have been added.
The cabin has been redone and features bucket seats trimmed in black Ambla vinyl. The rear seats have been removed, and interior appointments include a locking glovebox, multi-point harnesses, and wood trim.
The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel frames Smiths black-dial instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 10k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six has been modified with an aluminum cylinder head, triple Weber carburetors, and three-into-one headers. Fluid changes were performed last year.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive.
The vehicle is being sold on its Belgian registration, which serves as an ownership document in Belgium. The Belgian registration lists a VIN of “HBJ8L36417”, which adds an “L” ahead of the serialized suffix of the car no “HBJ836417”.
