Lot #227546
This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III was owned on New York’s Long Island during the 1970s, and a New Hampshire resident bought the car in 1996 and sold it to the selling dealer in December 2025. Finished in blue over blue vinyl, the car is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Features include a blue soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, a wood dashboard, a banjo-style steering wheel, and dual SU carburetors. This 3000 is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, Austin-Healey books, service records from prior ownership, a tonneau cover, spare parts, and New Hampshire registration.
The car is finished in Healey Blue (BU2), and the seller indicates that it likely has been repainted. The folding blue soft top has been replaced, and other equipment includes a hood scoop, a driver-side mirror, bright trim, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 165SR15 Michelin XZX radial tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. The rear brakes are said to have been overhauled in preparation for the sale.
The 2+2 cabin features bucket seats trimmed in blue vinyl with contrasting piping. Interior appointments include a wood dashboard, a center console, a locking glovebox, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, blue carpeting, and black floor mats.
The banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths black-dial instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 62k miles; the previous owner added about 7k miles between 1996 and 2025, according to the selling dealer.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD8 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 150 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. The seller states that the ignition coil recently was replaced.
The four-speed manual transmission is augmented by a Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive unit. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.
Manufacturer’s literature, Austin-Healey books, and service records ranging from 1969 through 2002 will accompany the vehicle.
The car is being sold on its New Hampshire registration, which serves as the ownership document in New Hampshire. The registration expired in April 2025.
