This 1961 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 Mk I was acquired by the seller in 2006, and work since 2019 has involved replacing the carburetor jet assemblies for the 2.9-liter inline-six as well as overhauling the four-speed manual transmission and the overdrive unit. Components include PerTronix ignition, a replacement exhaust system, and a Dennis Welch radiator with an electric fan. Finished in ivory over black upholstery, the car is equipped with a black soft top and tonneau cover, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, and a fabricated console that houses a CD player, 12-volt power outlet, and switches for interior lighting. The car rides on 15″ knock-off wire wheels and has front disc brakes, a hood scoop, and chrome bumpers. This 3000 Mk I is now offered with partial records, a set of side curtains and wind wings, and a California title in the seller’s name.
Finished in ivory, the car is equipped with a black soft top and tonneau cover, a hood scoop, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Side curtains and removable wind wings are included in the sale.
Knock-off 15″ wire wheels are mounted with 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. The seller states that the brake master cylinder and rear wheel cylinders were recently replaced.
The 2+2 cabin houses bucket seats trimmed in black upholstery. A console mounted ahead of the shifter houses a Panasonic CD player, a readout for voltage, a 12-volt power outlet, and switches for interior lighting and the auxiliary radiator fan.
A Moto-Lita steering wheel wears an aftermarket cover, and Smiths white-dial instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. The five-digit odometer shows 15k miles, approximately 10k of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD6 carburetors from the factory and has been equipped with PerTronix ignition, a GM alternator, a spin-on oil filter, and a Dennis Welch aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan. The carburetor jet assemblies were recently replaced, per the seller. The engine is backed by a four-speed manual transmission, which the seller notes was overhauled in 2019 along with the overdrive unit. The clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, and throwout bearing were also replaced. A replacement exhaust system is installed.
