Lot #261004

This 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 Mk II was refurbished in the early 1990s by Healey Lane Restoration of Marcola, Oregon, and was acquired by the current owner in 1995. A five-speed manual transmission was installed in 1998, and more recent work in preparation for the sale involved replacing the tires, brake calipers and pads, fuel lines, and front sway bar bushings. The car is finished in British Racing Green Dark over tan vinyl and is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six. Equipment includes a tan soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, a tonneau cover, a hood scoop, detachable side windows, a cabin heater, and front bucket seats. This 3000 Mk II is now offered on consignment by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, with service records and a clean Oregon title.

The car is finished in British Racing Green Dark and was repainted in 1992. A tear on the left front corner of the tan soft top is shown and the seller notes various areas of bubbling on the paint and chrome.

The 15″ knock-off wire wheels were mounted with Michelin XZX tires in July 2026. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. Additional work in preparation for the sale included replacing the front and rear brake hoses along with the front calipers, pads, and sway bar bushings.

The 2+2 cabin was reupholstered during the refurbishment and features bucket seats trimmed in tan vinyl. Wear is noted on interior components.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths white-dial instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 5,300 miles, which is not considered to be accurate. Total mileage is unknown.

The 2.9-liter inline-six featured triple SU HS4 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 136 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque. A replacement starter and fuel pump were installed in 2021, and fuel lines were replaced in July 2026. Compression test results are viewable in the gallery.

A five-speed manual transmission sourced from a 1993 Toyota pickup was installed in 1998. A section of the frame was replaced at the time of the repaint.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
