Car to be at Coy's auction 1/10
www.coys.co.uk/auctions/lot.php

Auction description:
1959 Austin Healey 3000 BT7
Lot 333
Registration Number: 301 UXU
Chassis Number: HBT72089

This elegant example was one of the few produced in original righthand drive form and one of even fewer cars exported in righthand drive from the factory straight to the Austin Healey dealership in Jersey in 1959. Purchased from the dealer by Captain Vokes, it spent the following 46 years on the Channel Islands during which time, its second owner carried out the restoration. It was then imported three years ago and registered for use on UK roads. During the vendor's ownership, it has been used for both touring and shows. Unlike many examples, the oil pressure is good and it is repoported to drive very well indeed. Unusually, the car is in completely standard trim This lack of factory extra's undoubtedly make this car quite unique. As with all big Healeys, the exhaust note is symphonic and the driving experience superb as can be witnessed in a short film accessible on YouTube, www.youtube.com/watch. With a recorded mileage is of just 48,034, its condition reflects a pampered lifetime spent on Jersey. It is supplied with full weather equipment, a current MoT test certificate and a large history file with invoices for work carried out in Jersey as well as the original handbook. A rare and extremely handsome British sportscar.

Estimate: £22000 - £30000

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
